Emergency services are investigating the mysterious disappearance of three men from a yacht in Australia.
A helicopter first saw the yacht near the North Queensland coast on Wednesday afternoon. Two days later the pilot saw the yacht again. He realised that the boat wasn’t moving and there weren’t any people on board.
He contacted the emergency services and a rescue team went to investigate. They found the yacht in perfect condition. The engine was running and a radio was playing music. There was food on the table, but there was no sign of the three men.
It seems that the men were having lunch and listening to music when something happened. “It was a bit strange”, one man said.
Two of the men on the yacht were brothers and they all lived in Perth. They were sailing round the north coast of Australia.
Twelve planes are now looking for the men. There is no explanation for the men’s disappearance so they are calling the boat “The Ghost Yacht”.
