Are you looking for ___ film to watch this ___? I’ve just watched the ___ Elizabeth, which I enjoyed ___ much. Elizabeth, which was ___ released in 1998, received ___ ratings. However, if you ___ biographical films which are ___ accurate, you will probably ___ disappointed. The film is ___ the early reign of ___ Elizabeth I, but it ___ more fiction than history. ___ film begins in 1554 ___ the reign of Mary ___, who was Elizabeth’s half ___. Mary has put Elizabeth ___ prison because she believes ___ she is plotting to ___ her. In 1558 Mary ___ and Elizabeth becomes queen. ___ must rule over England ___ a time when it’s ___ threat of invasion from ___ and Spain. She manages ___ overcome these threats and ___ the people who are ___ her downfall. Even though ___ men want to marry ___, she never marries. The ___ ends with Elizabeth saying, “___ am married to England”. ___ leading role is played ___ Cate Blanchett, who was ___ for an Oscar for ___ performance. In the film, ___ is not confident in ___ new position as queen ___ doesn’t know anything about ___.
In reality the woman who took the throne in 1558 was an intelligent and experienced politician. She knew how to use her power. The costumes in the film do not look like clothes from Elizabeth’s times. This is very surprising since there are many paintings of Elizabeth. It is even more disappointing because Elizabeth herself paid a lot of attention to her clothing and her appearance. She knew it was important to impress her people and her enemies. Yet, even though the film does not present an exact picture of life during Elizabeth’s reign, it is still worth watching because of the exceptional acting. Joseph Fiennes gives a particularly good performance in the role of Robert Dudley, one of Elizabeth’s most loyal friends.
